Meeting People Across the West Midlands
Almost one in five people in the West Midlands is under 16, a higher share than in any other English region, so for many women here the first new friends arrive through school gates, toddler groups and junior football. The region’s 6.2 million residents are split between the Black Country, around Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton and West Bromwich, and much quieter counties such as Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire, where market towns like Ludlow and Ledbury set an easier pace. If you don’t have children, or yours have grown up, the same principle still works: choose something weekly and local, such as a walking group around Malvern or a class in Shrewsbury, and keep turning up. Our pages below cover towns right across the region, from Telford and Kidderminster to Solihull and Warwick.
