Which Nuneaton museum costs nothing to visit?

Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery on Coton Road has a permanent George Eliot exhibition and free admission, with donations welcome. It stands in Riversley Park, beside Nuneaton town centre, where you will also find a bandstand and a play area by the River Anker.

What changed at Pingles Leisure Centre?

Pingles Leisure Centre in Nuneaton, run by Everyone Active, completed a £2.2m refurbishment in January 2026. The gym grew from 80 to 130 stations, and the centre added a cycling studio, a splash pad, a remodelled café, a refurbished changing village, plus a renovated outdoor pool.

Where do Nuneaton runners go for a Saturday parkrun?

Nuneaton runners usually head to Bedworth parkrun in Miners Welfare Park, around 5 km from Nuneaton town centre, which runs three laps on Saturday mornings. Hastings High School parkrun is another option a little further away, and both welcome walkers too.

Is it easy for Nuneaton women to meet locally?

Gofrendly, a women-only friendship app, shows Nuneaton women others in their area, from Weddington to Galley Common, so they can exchange a few messages and then pick a place to meet. A coffee in the Riversley Park café is an easy, daylight first meeting.

Nuneaton, a Warwickshire town where couples set up home

Nuneaton is the largest town in Warwickshire, the birthplace of the novelist George Eliot, with the River Anker running through Riversley Park. Its 11 wards have 27% of residents aged between 25 and 44 and 13% of households made up of unmarried partners, both higher than the West Midlands. If work, a new home or a partner’s circle fill your week, friends of your own can slip down the list.

That can leave weeknights surprisingly lonely, but Nuneaton is adding places to meet. Pingles finished a £2.2m refurbishment in January 2026 with a bigger gym, a cycling studio and a remodelled café, a new library and business centre on Vicarage Street is due in autumn 2027, and the Saturday street market still fills the town centre. Riversley Park, opened in 1907, has its original bandstand. The Abbey Theatre on Pool Bank Street adds a stage for nights out. A few starting points:
