When is Knit and Natter at Malvern Library?

Malvern Library on Graham Road runs Knit and Natter every Wednesday from 10:30am until 12:30pm, and the session costs nothing to join. It suits beginners and experienced knitters alike, and the library café is right there if you want to carry on talking afterwards.

Are Malvern Theatres open during the building work?

Malvern Theatres are being redeveloped in a £20m project due to finish in autumn 2027. The Forum Theatre is closed, but the Festival Theatre, cinema, Studio One, café, restaurant and bars stay open. The main door to Malvern Theatres is on Grange Road, with a signed side entrance from Priory Park during the works.

How far is the nearest parkrun from Malvern?

Malvern runners travel for parkrun: the closest is Worcester Pitchcroft parkrun at Worcester Racecourse, about 12 km away, an almost flat course mostly on tarmac. Closer to home, many Malvern walkers prefer the paths around Priory Park and up onto the Hills.

Can Malvern women meet new friends nearby?

Gofrendly, a women-only friendship app, connects Malvern women with others nearby, from Pickersleigh to Malvern Link, so they can talk by message first. A first coffee in the library café or a slow lap of Priory Park keeps things easy and unhurried.

Malvern, a spa town where many live alone

Great Malvern climbs the slope below the Malvern Hills, with Priory Park, Malvern Splash and Malvern Theatres grouped close to the centre. Over a quarter of Malvern’s residents across its seven wards are 65 or over, while solo households reach 35%, a clear step above the West Midlands on both counts. If your own house is quiet, a few fixed points in the week make a real difference.

Living alone can turn lonely in the darker months, and Malvern has warm places to go. The library has a café and is open longer to members of the free Libraries Unlocked scheme, the theatres keep their Festival Theatre, cinema and café open during a £20m rebuild due to finish in autumn 2027, and the Malvern Museum sits in the medieval Priory Gatehouse on Abbey Road. Malvern Splash, at the Priory Park entrance, adds a pool with a wave machine. Where to begin:

1
Malvern Library on Graham Road, with a café.
2
Priory Park and its historic bandstand.
3
Malvern Splash on Priory Road, with a wave machine.
4
Malvern Theatres, entered from Grange Road during the works.
5
