Is Bletchley Market open?

Not at the moment. Bletchley Market on Queensway and Stanier Square, normally Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, is closed while Milton Keynes City Council redevelops Queensway. Christmas on Queensway is planned for 5 December, so check the town council’s page for the next one in Bletchley.

What is The Sycamores in Bletchley?

The Sycamores on Drayton Road is a refurbished community hub run by Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Town Council, which opened officially on 17 October 2026. The council has asked residents for ideas for new groups, so Bletchley women can help shape what happens there.

Where is the closest parkrun to Bletchley?

There is no parkrun in Bletchley. Milton Keynes parkrun at Willen Lake, about six kilometres to the north, sets off at 9am each Saturday, and runners meet for coffee afterwards. A lift from a Bletchley neighbour makes it easier to go regularly.

Where can single mums in Bletchley find friends?

Gofrendly, a women-only friendship app, helps single mums in Bletchley find women nearby and message before arranging to meet. A walk in Chepstow Local Park or a coffee after Saturday Knit and Natter makes an easy first get-together for two.

Bletchley, where Britain broke the codes

Bletchley is famous for Bletchley Park, home to Britain’s codebreakers in the Second World War and often called the birthplace of modern computing. In the three town wards, roughly 20% of households rent socially and over 9% are lone-parent families with dependent children, both well above regional levels. If family life leaves little time for socialising, short, regular routines close to home matter a great deal, especially for parents juggling everything alone.

Raising children alone, with every day taken up by school and work, can be lonely. The Queensway market is paused while the street is redeveloped, and the Brunel Centre is earmarked for demolition under town-centre plans. Chepstow Local Park, looked after by West Bletchley Council, picked up a Green Flag in 2026, while the town council cares for a community orchard by the canal. Bletchley Park offers half-price entry to people living within ten miles. Ways to begin:

1
Bletchley Library on Westfield Road, with Knit and Natter.
2
The Sycamores community hub on Drayton Road.
3
Chepstow Local Park, looked after by West Bletchley Council.
4
