Bridlington knits on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Knit and Natter runs twice a week in Bridlington: on Tuesday mornings at Bridlington North Library and on Wednesday mornings at the Central Library on King Street, an easy way to make friends in Bridlington. The Central Library also hosts a Writers Group and a Games Club, and Sewerby parkrun sets off along the clifftop every Saturday. Gofrendly helps Bridlington women bring a friend along.

When is Knit and Natter in Bridlington?

Bridlington has two Knit and Natter groups: one at Bridlington North Library on Tuesday mornings from 10am to 11:30am, and one at the Central Library on King Street on Wednesday mornings from 10am to noon. Both are relaxed and welcome beginners as well as experienced knitters.

Sewerby parkrun: what does the clifftop course involve?

Sewerby parkrun is a single lap that starts at the entrance to Sewerby Park on the clifftop and follows the tarmac land train path towards Bridlington, with the sea on your left. It is about 3 km from Bridlington town centre, and it reached its 700th run in October 2026.

Which Bridlington pool has water slides?

East Riding Leisure Bridlington on the Promenade has a swimming pool and the Splash Zone, with two water slides including AquaSmash and a splash and play area. The centre also has a café, fitness classes and Clip ’N Climb, so it suits a Bridlington outing with someone new.

Bridlington women: how to find company locally?

Gofrendly, a women-only friendship app, lets Bridlington women discover others in town, from the Old Town to the seafront, and message for a while before meeting. A stroll along the Promenade or coffee after the Wednesday knitting session suits a first meeting.

Bridlington, a seaside town where many live alone

Bridlington is the East Riding’s seaside town, with its harbour, Old Town and a market on King Street on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Some 33% of residents in its three wards have reached 65, and 37% of households are just one resident, far higher than the regional averages. After retiring to the coast, or once you are living on your own, the quieter months can stretch.

Off-season, a seaside town can be lonely, yet Bridlington keeps its doors open. The Central Library runs a Wednesday Games Club, East Riding Leisure Bridlington on the Promenade has a pool, two water slides and Clip ’N Climb, and Sewerby Hall, a Grade I listed house, sits in 50 acres of clifftop parkland with gardens, a small zoo and a café. A crafts group meets at North Library on Tuesday afternoons. The Old Town, a short walk inland, has its own shops and streets to explore. Places to start on the coast:

1
Bridlington Central Library on King Street.
2
Bridlington North Library, home of a Tuesday Knit and Natter.
3
Sewerby Hall and Gardens on the clifftop.
4
East Riding Leisure Bridlington on the Promenade.
5
Bridlington Market on King Street, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
LOCAL TIP
Knit with the Wednesday group through the autumn and you will have someone to walk the Promenade with.
