Blandford Forum starts the week with a cuppa

Blandford Library in The Tabernacle hosts Cuppa and company every Monday from 10am, with a free cuppa and a warm welcome. When was Blandford Forum rebuilt?
A great fire on 4 June 1731 destroyed much of Blandford Forum, including the parish church and the town hall. The brothers William and John Bastard led the rebuilding, helped by £1,000 from King George II, and the new Georgian town was complete by about 1760.
Where is the information centre in Blandford Forum?
Blandford Information Centre is at Riverside House on West Street. From October to March it opens 10am to 3pm, Monday to Saturday, and from April to September until 4pm. It sells walk leaflets for Blandford Forum, including one that links the river, the trailway and the Milldown.
Is there a new parkrun near Blandford Forum?
Yes. Compton Abbas Airfield parkrun, about 12km from Blandford Forum, held its first run on 22 August 2026 and had run seven times by 17 October. It is three laps on grass around the edge of the runway, starting and finishing near the airfield café and car park.
